In 2015, the Sauvignon Blanc for Te Koko was sourced from some of our oldest vines across four distinguished vineyards. The vineyards are located
within the sub-regions of Rapaura and Renwick. These vineyards yield intense fruit with powerful structure. True to Marlborough, the soils are predominantly comprised of free draining gravels that have a particular
affinity for Sauvignon Blanc, producing grapes with high concentration and elegant, pure-fruited aromatic. Aromatically, the wine offers notes of ripe citrus, stone fruit and gentle, savoury spice. The palate is initially
taut and quite tightly wound, with fresh, vibrant grapefruit and white nectarine providing a mouthwatering entry. With time in the glass, these
more vibrant characters meld with richer tones of honey and beeswax, adding texture and depth. Concentrated and complex, the wine finishes with notes of ripe stone fruit, savoury smoke and graphite and just a hint of summer flowers.
