Houghton was founded in 1836 by a syndicate of three British Army Officers and named after the most senior of the three-Lieutenant Colonel Richmond Houghton. Throughout its history, Houghton has built an enviable reputation shaping the Western Australian winemaking landscape. Houghton Cabernet Sauvignon is a medium bodied wine displaying distinctive varietal characteristics of blackcurrant, bay leaf and plummy fruits. Supple tannins and hints of oak provide a savoury dry finish.
